"If you can visit two continents in your life time visit Africa twice"
We are proud to say that our non-profit partner, Good Work Foundation (GWF), has produced a Covid-19 animated infographic that is available in six languages: isiZulu, English, Sepedi, Xitsonga, Siswati and Afrikaans.mailto:www.goodworkfoundation.org
There are 11 official languages in South Africa and while English is understood in our largest cities, there are still many people in outlying areas who speak little, if any, English.
At our property in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, the majority of people come from neighbouring communities where the beautiful Xitsonga language is spoken. It is the first language to about 4,5% of South Africans.
GWF is an education non-profit specialising in digital learning for people living in the rural villages and communities that we partner with. Their programmes reach over 10,000 children and adults in our region, delivering everything from programming and robotics, to IT networking and hospitality training.
Thanks to the many guests who visit us to view our exquisite wildlife, we are able to support the work of GWF. In the midst of this unforeseen global event, thank you for helping us to protect the people who in turn protect the land under wildlife.
Click here to navigate to GWF’s YouTube channel where you can find the video in all six languages, or watch it in English below.
Today we witnessed an epic battle on a small scale. A Giant Land Snail being attacked by a Peaceful Giant Ground Beetle larvae.Contrary to the beetles name the snail was bombarded with constant vicious attacks.
The snails only defense was to use its mass and attempt to push the beetle larvae off with it’s shell. The tenacious beetle would then burrow under the shell to get to the gastropods fleshy body.
We hope you enjoy this little compilation of the most powerful sounds at Inyati over the past decade.
Listen closely the the guest comment, a very lyrical summation indeed.
Rate the roar. #armchairsafaris#purenature
“We know that you might not be able to be here with us, so in an effort to keep you connected to our amazing wildlife, we’ll be sharing some of our sightings with you. We hope that our #ArmchairSafaris bring a smile to your face at this difficult time! 😊”
Amidst the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic and in line with public health advice, we have taken the decision to temporarily close Inyati Game Lodge, Sabi Sands Game Reserve with immediate effect. It is our intention to reopen on 1 May 2020 provided that it is safe to do so. While this was a hard decision for us to make, we believe it is the socially responsible thing to do and it is important to take the required precautionary measures to protect our team, our guests, our families and our communities. The global trend is towards social distancing, self-isolation and the cancellation of non-essential travel.
Most of our guests have decided to postpone their travels, rather than cancel, and we would encourage others to follow suit. Our reservations team is handling each booking on an individual basis and we will do everything possible to accommodate amended bookings.
For any queries on existing or future bookings, please contact our reservations team at email@example.com
These are unique and challenging times for everyone concerned and our thoughts are with all of you who have been affected by this crisis.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and support.
Warm bushveld regards
Inyati Game Lodge
#TeamInyati The Extra Mile, sponsored by Investec Rhino Lifeline is the Sabi Sands’ first trail run. The 10km or 21km trail traverses through the scenic areas on the borders of the Sabi Sands Wildtuin area.
The funds raised from the event go back into the communities around the area. This annual run, organised by More Community Trust in partnership with the Sabi Sand Pfunanani Trust, Endangered Wildlife Trust, and Good Work Foundation, has been described as one of the toughest, heart-warming, fun, and community-driven events that many of these seasoned runners have ever done.
Well done to all of the incredible runners.
Come join us in 2021 for the trail run with a heart!
The team from Inyati Game Lodge are pleased to announce a substantial refurbishment of the lodge, which is set in the western sector of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park.
Major structural renovations of the central recreational areas include an extension of the main veranda area to capitalise on the uninterrupted scenes of the Sand river and its rich game viewing opportunities.
The expanded dining area has been fitted with comfortable but practical fittings to ensure a more spacious entertainment experience that enables guests to take full advantage of the spectacular riverfront location.
The traditional open-aired boma has been completely rebuilt to create a warm, inviting space where guests can enjoy dining under the magnificent African night sky while enjoying Inyati’s hearty, home-style cuisine.
At the same time, all eleven rooms have gained a beautiful soft upgrade with a new colour palette of luxurious furnishings and indulgent outdoor showers have been added to all the standard chalets.
As part of the lodge’s aim to provide a comprehensive and authentic bush experience, Inyati rates now include a selection of house beverages in addition to the two game drives per day, guided safari walks, fishing, all meals, high tea and Wi-Fi.
The enhancements have given the lodge a modern facelift while retaining the classic safari style and relaxed family atmosphere that guests have enjoyed for the past three decades.
We are so proud to announce that Inyati Game Lodge has been nominated for the 2019 Safari Awards, sponsored by The Good Safari Guide.
